Pakistan and Vancouver Canada

"Painting provides a therapeutic and soulful experience to me."

Arfa Muhammad is an international student in Canada, originally from Karachi, Pakistan. She’s a self-taught traditional artist known for her hyper-realistic sketches. While she loves sketching, she’s also drawn to canvas art because she believes it provides a therapeutic and soulful experience, helping with self-care.

Back in Pakistan, Arfa actively participated in Jubilee Arts where she showcased her talents in both paper and canvas art. She also had a passion for performing arts, especially dancing, which added to her love for artistic expression.

After moving to Canada, Arfa decided to pursue a career in graphic design. She’s currently enrolled in a graphic design course at Vancouver Community College where she’s refining her skills and exploring her creative side.

During quarantine, she participated in a talent show organized by the Karimabad Jurisdiction Youth and Sports Board, which attracts participants from all over the world. Arfa created an impressive one-minute video showcasing mural art, earning her the first position in the competition. She also exhibited her gymnastics skills and secured the third position. These achievements reflect her dedication and passion for her craft.

Throughout high school, Arfa received several certificates for her artistic achievements, further highlighting her talent. Each brushstroke and sketch she creates represents her artistic journey filled with passion and growth. Arfa is thankful for the opportunities that have shaped her into the artist she is today, and she’s excited about exploring new artistic avenues and pushing her creative boundaries.
